To provide our expense splitting services, we collect the following types of information:

• Personal Information: When you register, we collect your phone number (for OTP authentication) and the display name you provide.
• Payment Information: If you choose to use the QR payment feature, we securely store your UPI ID (Uniform Payment Interface) to facilitate direct peer-to-peer payments.
• Usage Data & Transactions: We collect and store the groups you create/join, the expenses you add, receipts you upload, and settlement transactions to calculate balances accurately.

2. How We Use Your Information

The information we collect is used strictly for the following purposes:

• To authenticate your identity via Firebase Phone Authentication.
• To provide, maintain, and improve the core functionality of the App (calculating debts and generating reports).
• To allow you to share expenses and balances with other members of your groups.

3. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

We may share aggregated, non-personally identifiable information with third-party services (like Google AdMob) strictly for serving advertisements within the app.

We use Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication, Storage) to securely store and sync your data in the cloud. Firebase acts as our data processor and is bound by severe data protection agreements.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your personal data and transaction history as long as your account is active to provide you with historical expense tracking.

Account Deletion: You have the right to request the complete deletion of your account and all associated personal data. You can delete data at any time from within the App settings, or by contacting the developer directly.

5. Security

The security of your data is important to us. We use industry-standard security measures provided by Google Firebase to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. However, please be aware that no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
